SWEET CHANGE
his words within your ear so sweet
he swears he loves you best
of all those he's loved the rest
couldn't hold a candle to his flame
but he wonders if she could arrange
a threesome for future change

ONE TEDDY BEAR
but one thing
that is holy
then let that be
human life
Not gods
not the ground
upon which we stand
Not religion
or it's edifices
churches or mosques
Not for prophets
jesus or mohammed
not for teddy bears
But only for life
human life
of more value
than all the gods
One teddy bear
named mohammed
is not worth one life
or fifteen days
in jail
So much for
religious bigotry
ignorance and education

AWAKE
none are of the gods
but the creations of old men
bent by high ambitions
and protection of their positions
for the herding and controlling
the anarchic multitudes
The holy books following are
eastern Indian bhagavagita
the Hebrew torah the Kabbala
the old testament of the Jews
the christian new testament
the Muslim koran
the book of the dead
the book of morman
dyanetics of science fiction
even the mafia have
their own ten commandments
All the above hold less truth
than the daily world news
the New York Times
the post intelligencer
the holy book less current
no less violent
the news offers you no prizes
beyond this world or any other
of impossible existence
but beware for they too
may offer you propaganda
may promote ancient mythology

CONTACT
doesn't have to be
lonesome
It need not
be quiet
or silent
Conversation
is limited
unless you talk
to yourself
Today
the radio
television
computer
can entertain
you
Or drive you
mad enough to call
random numbers
on your cell
phone
Impose
upon a friend
In desperation
call the police
No don't do that
they might
accidentally
shoot you
Prior to verbal
contact
Don't anwer
the door
with your cell
in hand
It may be construed
as a weapon

LIES THEN WHOPPERS
or the boogey man
will get you
Be very good
or Santa Claus
will pass you by
Don't cry
the tooth fairy
will exchange your tooth
for a dollar
Don't play
with yourself
hair will grow on your palm
or you will get zits
then everyone
will know
Go to church
and pray
or when you die
you will find yourself
in hell
In your twenties
the evil dictator
has the bomb
you must destroy
that monster
If you don't
go to war
we will watch your ass
and the rest of you
as a suspect
as a possible traitor
and that may
not be a lie

GIRLS & BOYS
and boys will be boys
to play with each other
as sexual toys
Some girls would be boys
some boys would be girls
to try with each other
for sexual joys
Girls will be girls
and boys will be boys
to seek with each other
to be sexual foils

PAST TIME
called gods do go
though their demise be slow
as future years will show
The priestly class alas
shall then be history past
but who then will feed
the irrational their need
The mystical the magical
for all questions unanswerable

TRUTH & IGNORANCE
is not the truth
it is second hand
it can only entrap
and another's truth
can not truly
be your own
you must seek truth
for yourself
Ancient truth
may not hold true
to current truth
for it may be based
on far lesser facts
or greater bias
or ignorance
Judge not a truth
on the desire of need
but only what can be
preferably determined
by verification
confirmed by evidence
Only truth can free you
from ignorance
propaganda and myth

MASTODONS
if we survive
nor do stars care
our small ruin
those long gone
shall no more
return to see
the breath of earth
Neither great nor small
once gone gone forever
without return
and so shall we
and the mighty disappear
to become the very
dust of earth

BEFORE AND AFTER
so they may longer sustain
women should they not attain
do so afterward by hand

OF GREAT CONCERN
disturbed to find
he has left it up
and she has left it down
has it not occured to mind
that she could leave it up
and he could leave it down
in order that they might find
a lasting peace of mind
The great debate
as of this late
is as to whether
the toilet paper
should go over
or under the roller

IMPOSSIBLE DREAM
that war shall be no more
while war wages on
I dream with diminishing hope
that nations shall no more
produce weaponry of war
I dream of a hopeful possible time
when no nation shall violate
even one life of any citizen
I dream of such a future as when
compassion shall rule over greed
when the least shall be no less
than the greatest of these
I dream admittedly it must seem
the most impossible dream
when religion is separate
from each governed state

SYSTEM CHANGE
with the smallest fund
corporations have not paid
that person to run
Vote for women
until half our reps
are feminine gender
vote for any member
Agnostics atheist or secular
or every shade of color
asexual or regular
for ethical order
Fearless of god
and nonsusceptible to fraud

FAIR SHARE
who would walk together
and share my fare
we work together
or apart
I hold no desire
to take upon myself
the burdens of others
let those who will
have them and always
they will find
others to burden
them

GOD CREATION
and his women decided
not to be left out
that she needed one also
to protect the pots and pans
and the soufflé'
She reconsidered and decided
that she needed at least three
so he decided not to be undone
that he might need a dozen
She as some wives being dominant
told him to get out there
and create as many gods
as they might ever need
so he took up some clay
and from this clay he created
a multitude of gods
they were not permanent
He was not satisfied
so he made some of wood
made some of bronze
and he even made some from gold
They prayed to them
and the crops failed
even the soufflé' collapsed
and that year was a bad winter
They even prayed some more
sacrificed two young virgins
and the next summer
there was a bad drought
So life just went from bad to worst
so they decided they needed
an imaginary god
perhaps in their own image
She thought god
should be a woman
and he naturally
thought god should be a man
They fought and argued
for many years until the decided
that god should be imaginary
neither he or a she
Then others came along and said
it is not one but three
and threw in Mary to make it four
to confuse it more all the saints
People still pray
they don't sacrifice virgins
just the funds of their labor
nature has not changed
Some winters are still hard
some summers are dry
some live some die
their is little change
in human nature

GENTLY
I shall be gentle
as a warm summer's
evening breeze
Gently I shall
touch her
as gently
as the touch
of morning dew
Softly I shall
wisper my love
letting each caress
fall like warm rain

TRUTHFUL LIES
would you wish to hear
come sit by me
I will bend your ear
Open your mind
as cloudless skies
then I will tell you
truthful lies

THRESHOLD
I stood held by fright
yet I felt no fear
I laughed
and laughter echoed down
into abysmal depths
re-echoing
until all was lost
I was left alone
in mesmeric trance
to wonder onward downward
into the abyss of darkness
that envelopes
infinite time
I listened heard my laughter
resounding faintly
in the distance die
I saw a smile
cross an empty face
the vacant face of time

SINGLE
but your own
lay back in your chair
there is no one there
no one there to say
This very day
I have a hundred
chores for you to do
you have promised
you would do
But all alone
you can ignore what's due
let only thirst and hunger
move you from the comfort
of your favorite chair
The chair that can
warm massage vibrate
even entertain you
with music and the news
when there is nothing
you wish to do
With no expectations
but your own
when you are single
and alone

WAR
I've seen the night
bright with the killing of war
I have seen
shattered bodies
of old and young
I have seen
people building homes
out of the ashes
I have seen
young women selling their bodies
in Manila Yokohama Shanghai
Because there where families
or no families
because there was no other way
because war made it profitable
Because there were men
tired lonely men
buying forgetfulness
buying love

ONE
grows in the light
another dies in the darkness
and we die together
for we are one
We are the force
that urges mountains
to push their heads
above the plain
We are the rains
that cut mountains
into the hills
and into the valleys
We are the wind
that blows a quite sea
to turbulence
We are the sea
the stars the heavens
the galaxies
a moment of eternity
As with the twinkling
of the stars
we are the momentary
the eternal
The rock
the flower
and we tomorrow
share the essence
of each other

EVOLUTION
out of a primal sea
unto a bare desolation
where it found
naught to love but itself
out of its self love
it multiplied and changed
and eons passed
out of this
came all that grows
and crawls and flies
and from this
came man

PRODICAL SON
to do with
as you please
a table has been set
before you
the fatted calf
is slaughtered
wines flow
in your favor
Go however
if you must
but remember
There shall be
no lamenting
If evil
and wrong find you
and hard times
beget you
come not home
to me as a beggar
for only the lord
shall have mercy

SEA WAIT
some to drink
some men to madness
words
fists
knives
For a time
the long monotony
is broken
some look
for revenge
On a dark
moonless night
a shuffling of feet
a splash------
Then only
the throbbing of engines
the throbbing of hearts
and over the side
only the phosphorous sea

SACRILEGE
god is with us
he shall set up a table for us
before our enemies
you shall drink the warm blood
We shall reap our enemies
upon the spear of fear
and eat the putrid meat of disgust
This is the meat
this is the blood
this is holy communion
We set your shame upon an altar
we offer this to you
that the word may be known
We bow down and pray
and thank thee
that we have made thee
In our image
strong and victorious
above thine enemies

LOST LOVE
I shall no longer need your body
then should we pass each other by
it shall be as unknown strangers
who pass each other in the stream of life
toward our individual destinies
Monday, January 08, 2007
THIS IS IT
a not to solid earth
skies that change
water that flows
the air you breath
time from infancy
until infirmity
perhaps a century
with fears of dreams
or highs or lows
the many lovers
the illusions
and the delusions
the joy and pain
the loss and gain
what you touch
and what you feel
what you see
and what you hear
wihtin the now
and what is near
no mystery here
no gods no demons
no guiding stars
only friend or foes
and what of earth
you learn or get to know
what you love
what you appreciate
makes this great
love it or leave it
this is it
