BIPOLAR

When you are bipolar
with the very least of care
take chance few would dare
clearance of an inch or two
to drive your truck on through

Accidents just seem to happen
while tripping down the stairs
having you right foot catching
while riding the banister that
launches you into empty air not
knowing where you'll land or care


The trees you find to climb
its limbs will hold you for a while
then accidentally let you down
never so very gently so
unexpectedly to the ground
testing your bones are sound

When you go walking under trees
or cycling along forest trails
you must be careful of the trees
for one may step within your way
or fall silently across your path
to leave you slightly flat

Early morning you left home
find yourself heading down
a road alone and you must ask
yourself why it was you left
in what direction did you go
where it was you were to go

Some days when you awake
it is hard to believe your state
you are so gloriously high
without a suspicion as to why
on such blissful days as these
joy could make a mad man cry

Then there are dreadful days
days of dark dismal despair
a desolation so profound
negation rules predominates
overwhelming seems endless
this state of even perverseness

OH! WELL

Is there no reason
not to appreciate
the element of reason
in substantiated fact
compared to faith
in the unsubstantiated

True no doubt reason
will not get you through
those golden pearly gates
but who has certified you
that that will be your fate

You depend upon the holy
men of heaven each Sunday
as they collect your tithing
here upon the very earth
as you collect your blessing
if and when you get to heaven

However should you find
yourself in hell
Oh! well

SIMULACRUM

Virtually similar
sufficiency of occurrence
within an acceptable
range of measurable
error that we can agree
that a bird is a bird
and a tree is a tree

That the difference we see
is only generally a matter
of acceptable degree
when no two of a kind
is a hundred percent
to any two minds

Of all such matters
which some or most of us
can not imagine or see
there is an insufficiency
that we should need to agree
and accept to disagree
